2019

Welcome to the member registration portal for Whitford Hockey Club for the 2019 winter season.

This is the online registration site for new and existing members to register to play hockey in 2019 - pre-juniors, juniors, seniors and masters, as well as social members, volunteers and parent registrations.  Membership fees have been revised in line with the new Hockey Australia registration requirements, with turf levies increasing only marginally from last year in line with the CPI.   To provide more transparency, fees have also been split between the Club membership fee and playing fee.

You will need to register at least twice if you are a player (except Minkey, Grads and Post-Grads players - see below) - once in the Hockey Australia portal so you can be included in the online match reports and be covered under personal accident insurance, and at least once in this portal so we can collect your member details and team preferences.  You will be invoiced for your player and membership fees by Whitford Hockey Club in due course. The Hockey Australia Gameday portal requires basic information and there are two registration options which must be selected – the Hockey Australia levy ($42 for seniors or $30 for juniors aged 9-18) and the Hockey WA Player levy ($0) - please make sure you select both.  Please also note the Hockey Australia portal is incompatible with some browers including Internet Explorer 11.

The Hockey Australia Levy is a compulsory levy imposed by Hockey Australia to promote and sustain the sport, which now collects fees at player level when registering in the Gameday system.  In past years this levy and personal accident cover has been paid by the Club, so we have reduced fees we charge our members to reflect the transfer of costs from the Club to you. The levy previously varied across states and territories and was linked to the number of teams in a jurisdiction and the level of play. The new levy streamlines fees and has been benchmarked against a number of similar sports.

Minkey, Grads and Post-Grads players do not have to register in the Hockey Australia Gameday system - that system is generally only for those players from Juniors playing in the Year 5/6 competition and above.  If you do register a child in this system and they are 8 or under at 31 December of this year, they can receive free personal accident insurance worth $12 per year by selecting a Hockey Australia Stick2Hockey $0 registration and a Hockey WA Player $0 registration.  If you child turns 9 or older this year you will be charged the $30 Hockey Australia levy covering registration and insurance.

On this site, being the Club's own registration portal, there are two online Club registration forms - one for seniors (including parents - see below) and one for juniors (including Minkey, Grads and Post-Grads players). Both are simple, quick forms with drop-down boxes to make data entry easy.

If you are playing in more than one winter team on a regular basis (e.g. senior & junior, senior & masters) please register twice in this system in each category.  This portal allows team lists and web pages for each team to be created by coaches and team managers, so they will each need a registration for you to add you to that team.

We are inviting club volunteers to register for free social membership using the Senior Registration Form.  This will assist us in recognising our volunteers for the great work they do under our Volunteer Recognition system.

Under the new incorporated associations legislation model rules which the Club adopted in 2017, junior members under 15 years old are not entitled to vote at a general meeting of the Club.  To ensure every member has a voice, parents or legal guardians of juniors under 15 are invited to register as an honorary member at no membership fee using the Senior Registration Form, and to vote on behalf of their junior member at any general meeting.
