REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR 2020

SIGN ON DAY IS THURSDAY 20TH FEBRUARY

5PM - 6PM, MARKS  Park


  • TRAINING COMMENCES:  14nd March, 2019
  • Saturday afternoon games are held at Silkwood.
  • Pre-season games commence Sat 14th March, 2020
  • Competitive season commence Sat 9th May, 2020

Once the season is under way, Saturday games and training news can be viewed on the facebook feed to the right (or below for mobile devices).

In the case of wet weather to find out if training or games are on  please check, Facebook or contact your Coach or Team Manager


GROUNDS MANAGEMENT

Every 5-6 weeks it is MBFC's turn to be Grounds Managers at Silkwood during Saturday games.  Please contact Nathan or Kelly if you are able to help out when it's our turn.

Grounds Management duties are as follows: 

Set up:

  • Ground inspection (check for rubbish and debris on fields) then sign off in book (blue folder in JR office).  
  • Put rubbish bins out.

End of play:

  • Bring rubbish bins in.
  • Check all match balls have been returned by coaches
  • Final check that all nets have been taken down 

TRAINING

Training is at 5pm on Thursdays at MARCS Park, Mission Beach unless otherwise advised by your coaches due to wet weather.


SATURDAY'S GAME

  • ​​​​​​​Soccer boots and shin pads are compulsory at Saturday games and no jewellery is to be worn when playing.
  • If this is your first time at a Silkwood game, there is usually a map of the playing fields on a notice board in between the canteen and the toilets.

MiniRoos Kick-off program runs on Thursdays at 5pm, MARCS Park, unless cancelled by Adrian House via text/email.

REGISTRATIONS

Thank you everyone for registering.  For those of you yet to pay, please settle via cash at training or deposit to the Bendigo Bank as per bank details emailed to you on registration.

COACHES AND TEAM MANAGERS:

Coaches responsibilities include the following:-

  • planning and running training sessions
  • setting up and packing up training equipment
  • bringing team kit to Saturday games (including washing of playing jerseys or organising roster)
  • refereeing Saturday games
  • corresponding with parents re training and Saturday games and wet weather arrangements.

A team manager is a useful addition to a team. The role of the Team Manager is to assist the coach in their above duties, in particular the team correspondence and organisation of playing jersey washing roster and anything else as they see fit.

There are some great coaching resources on the MyFootballClub site for our coaches to explore.  We also have a professional coach coming to some of our early training sessions to get the kids motivated and also give some tips to our coaches.  

NEW JERSEYS AND COACH'S BAGS

We have included a couple of larger size playing jerseys in each coaches bag (generally the higher the number on the back, the bigger the size), there are spare jerseys in the locker in the storeroom if needed.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS FOR JERSEYS:  Please ensure new playing jerseys are washed on a gentle cycle with minimal washing powder and no softeners.  Please line dry in the shade.  This will ensure the longevity of our jerseys.
