Southern Districts Softball Association (Inc.)

Southern Districts Softball Association has been promoting and playing the game of softball in the local community south of the river since it's inception in 1981. SDSA has been in the City of Cockburn since 2000. Our current home ground is at the Aubin Grove Sport & Community Facility on Camden Boulevard (next to Aubin Grove Primary).

SDSA has maintained its ongoing sustainability as it is a popular family sport, it has a great interactive social atmosphere and has a great venue for families who reside within the City of Cockburn to learn and play softball.  Softball is a game that all family members can play and enjoy a sport together through their participation and achievement in a safe and secure environment within the community.

SDSA aims at improving physical fitness and mental well-being, developing social relationships and achieving results in competition at all levels and ages.  It can strengthen the community and has a significant impact on the economy by contributing to the sports industry.

SDSA is situated in the middle of one of the fastest growing residential areas in Perth metropolitan, with an ever increasing community—Aubin Grove, locality of City of Cockburn.

SDSA’s members (150+) reside mostly within the local City of Cockburn suburbs. Members also travel from North of the River, East from Midland and South from Rockingham to enjoy our family oriented atmosphere.

We aim to continue our contribution to the local community by providing a safe and secure environment for a summer competition in the City of Cockburn to build the sport within the City and also by modifying our game so that people with disabilities can enjoy playing softball.

Our players have been selected for various Western Australian Softball teams representing at Inter-Association, National, International & State Teams, which proves we are an avenue for high performance players wishing to develop their skills of softball.

In 2013 SDSA’s representative Masters (35+) team “Southern Swans” WON gold at the Australian Masters Games in Geelong Victoria and won silver in 2023 in Perth WA. (See Masters Page for more info)
