INFORMATION FOR COACHES & MANAGERS

Welcome aboard

Thank you for your interest in becoming a coach and/or manager at Noosa Rugby. The success of our rugby program is largely attributed to the coaches and managers who volunteer their time. We hope you find the experience incredibly rewarding and one you will cherish forever.

To get started there are a few important requirements to be completed.

Coaching Accreditation

All coaches and referees in Australia are required to be Smart Rugby accredited before participating in rugby at any level.

What is Smart Rugby?

Smart Rugby is a free online course that takes approximately 1hr 30mins to complete.

There are four Smart Rugby modules designed to help you build your understanding of the theory and application of Smart Rugby principles:

1.    Introduction to Smart Rugby

2.    Playing Smart - Tackle, Ruck and Maul

3.    Playing Smart - Set Pieces

4.    Blue Card

The Smart Rugby course objectives are to:

  • Promote player safety through education, protocols and information
  • Teach correct technique to improve player standards and safety
  • Ensure player participation, so that players from all backgrounds, male and female, feel welcomed and enjoy their participation in rugby
  • Encourage player participation through a safer environment, on and off the field.

To complete your Smart Rugby accreditation go to https://myaccount.rugbyxplorer.com.au/ and access the course via the Learning Centre.
